I’m in LOVE with a ROBOT!

I’m a single mom of two monsters, I mean children… one of which, my two year old, majors in leaving messes. And because I also work full-time, I have to use what little free time I have VERY wisely.  So… I fell in love with a robot.  Yes, you heard that right. My robot’s name is Roomba.

He’s been in my life for almost 2 years. Naturally he’s got lot of bumps and bruises because he’s a HARD worker!

My disc shaped vacuum cleaner navigates through the house sucking up all the little crumbs and dirt left by my children.  He moves about doing his business for about an hour and then discreetly backs up to his charging dock.

He was pricey but totally worth it.  Mine was a steal since it was a refurbished model I scored from Brads Deals.  He’s lovely and takes up the slack when my life is hectic. It’s exciting to see how much gunk this guy sucks up.

He’s also our personal lost and found.  All dirt, crumbs, and treasures go into a debris receptacle where I’ve found my lost silver necklace, microscopic Legos (one less curse word under my breath,) and even a missing broken piece to my cat ring holder. (Thanks, Ralphie.)

I’m all about making life easier for the single mom that I am.

I like cooking crockpot meals, easy!  You can get by with less expensive cuts of meat since they’re cooked at low temperatures for several hours.  So easy to throw everything in and walk away.  You’ll come home to a savory and delicious meal!

And have you heard of Hello Fresh? OMG… seriously. They send you fresh veggies and meat along with all the ingredients to make a fresh meal at home.  Super cool way to try out new recipes.  I’m always on the lookout for discount deals on RetailMeNot.com

I can’t wait to try Shipt to deliver my groceries.  I used Walmart curb delivery which was waaaay cool.  Shopping in your pajamas is the way to go… but I’ll admit you can go a little cray!

Oh, and I have to tell you about my new FAVORITE small appliance and one of the best purchases I’ve ever made.  Seriously!  It’s the Hamilton Beach Breakfast Sandwich Maker.  I was worried that this guy was going to end up in the bottom cabinet in the darkness with all the other small appliance flops. Nope!  This guy is front and center on my counter top. I turn it on and give it a few minutes to heat up.  I’ve been using bagel thins, bacon, egg, and cheese… but you can get as creative as you want.

A few sprays of coconut oil and I put down the bottom half of the bagel thin, add bacon, then cheese.

Bring down the next non-stick layer, crack an egg, add salt and pepper, top with the top half of the bagel thin.

Bring the top down and wait 4 ½ minutes.

It’s so simple, quick, and efficient!  I’m thinking pizza sauce, pepperoni, and mozzarella cheese next time!!!

I’d love to hear from you!  What are some services or appliance that you use to make life easier?
