Sweet Daughter,

Last night I watched you take your first steps. Oh, how quickly time passes. The realization that you will one day be a beautiful young woman and not a wiggly toddler in my arms is quickly sinking in.

As you grow, there’s going to be times in your life when the voice of this world will get overwhelming.

It’s easy to get lost in the that voice when we don’t know the truth.

So, I’m writing you this letter, because I want you to know some things.
I want them deeply engraved into the core of your being.

Here’s the thing:

The world may try to tell you that you’re not good enough, the truth is that you’re worth far more than rubies.

You’re royalty.

The world may try to tell you that you need to show more skin in order to be beautiful, the truth is that your beauty comes from the confidence you carry and the purity of your heart.

You’re fearfully and wonderfully made.

The world may try to tell you that your voice doesn’t matter, the truth is that your voice has the power to influence a generation.

You’re brave and you’re bold.

The world may try to tell you that your dreams are too big and you’ll never reach them, the truth is that you were intricately created to fulfill that specific dream. Only you can fulfill it.

You have purpose.

The world may try to tell you that being different is a bad thing, the truth is that you were never meant to blend in.

You’re perfectly unique.

The world may try to tell you that the mistakes that you make are what define you, the truth is that those mistakes are what will help shape you to become the woman God made you to be.

You’re clothed with strength & dignity.

You see my dear, when you carry the truth in your heart, it’s hard to be shaken by these things.

But, just in case you need a reminder, read this letter.

Love, Mom.
