Top Spring / Summer 2018 “Mom-Wear” Picks (on a Budget)

When I get dressed everyday, I like to be comfortable but I still want to feel cute and trendy.  As a mom of 3, I need clothes that I can wear to comfortably bend over to change a diaper or to chase after my crazy boys in.  I want my “mom-wear” to be functional but still make me feel confident, feminine, and put together.  I may not feel like I can pull off all of the current clothing trends, nor am I willing to pay steep designer prices, but that doesn’t mean that I still can’t be fashionable!

Here are my current favorite “mom-wear” staples this season.  I have enjoyed them so much that I that I decided to share them with you 🙂

1. The “Distressed Boyfriend Short for Women” from Old Navy

Oh my goodness you guys.  These shorts are my absolute fav.  I have them in 4 different colors (some not “distressed”) because they are SO. STINKING. COMFORTABLE.  They are casual, trendy, and have the perfect amount of stretch.  These can easily be dressed up or down and have become a staple “mom-wear” piece for me.  Before I found these, I had stopped wearing denim shorts all together because I found them to be so uncomfortable.  These denim shorts completely changed my mind.  They run around $30 full priced but they go on sale often and I have paid under $20 for each of mine.  Also, I find that these run a hair bigger than most other old navy shorts as they are “boyfriend” fit.

Available at Old Navy.

2. The “Danskin Now Women’s memory foam slip on Athletic Shoe” available at Walmart.

That’s right WALMART!  And they are under $13 full priced!!  O.M.G.  Shoe deal of the century!  My mom and I both fell in love with Sketcher’s brand slip on shoes years ago.  We would make a special trip to the Sketcher’s outlet to buy a new pair once a year or so.  They were priced anywhere from $59-$79 for almost the exact same shoe.  I bought my first pair of the Walmart version last fall and they have held up just as well so now I own several.  I mean for $13 why not, right?  In my opinion, this Walmart version does seem to run a bit wider than the Sketcher’s, but for me that works out well.  This is the one pick on my list that I actually bought in store as opposed to online.  However, you can buy these online as well.

Available at Walmart.

3. The “Knockout by Victoria Sport High-Rise Pocket Capri” sold at Victoria’s Secret

These are my absolute go-to work out, errand running, and jogging pants!  They are not at all see through and they have POCKETS that can fit your cell phone, keys or credit cards!  These pants are so comfy, and hold their shape through workouts or just daily wear.  These are originally $60-$70 but I, of course, always wait until they are on sale.  I got mine for $35 and they have been well worth it!  They are available in various colors and lengths but the classic black in capri length is my fav!  I find these to run smaller than other VS items so I order one size up from my usual VS size.

Available at Victoria’s Secret.

4. The “Open Sleeve Swing dress in Jersey” from Gap Factory

I bought this dress about a month ago and I have already worn it several times.  It’s got a very forgiving swing silhouette that hides the flaws of my midsection and is so breezy and comfy!  I like to pair mine with a contrasting statement necklace and simple summer sandals.  Instant comfort and style!  This dress is available in many colors and I got mine on sale for just $16.99!  Runs true to size with a relaxed fit.

Available at Gap Factory.

5. The “Sanuk Women’s Yoga Spree 4 Flip flop” from Amazon.com

Yall, if you do not own a pair of Sanuk’s you are doing yourself an injustice.  To me, these are the most comfortable and durable flip flops that I have ever owned.  The bottom is made out of a yoga mat… need I say more?!  I own, multiple colors and styles of yoga mat Sanuk’s and love them all.  I love to pair mine with a fun tee and my favorite denim shorts from above.  They are available at lots of different stores.  On average they retail for around $30 but I got this pair for just $23 on Amazon.com!  I find these run true to size.

Available at Amazon.com.

6. The “Rockstar Jegging” from Old Navy

Again, Old Navy for the “mom-wear” win!  Guys, these have NO button and NO zipper.  THEY. PULL. ON.  Just like maternity pants but made for NON-pregnant women!  Hooray!  They are sooooo comfy and look just like regular jeans!  These have a great stretch and hold their shape all day long.  I love the distressed one’s for spring because you get the look of jeans with built in air conditioning from the rips, lol!  And like all my other picks, I bought these online on sale!  I have found these to run slightly small so I order one size up from my normal old navy size.  They are available in many fun colors!

Available at Old Navy.

I hope you enjoyed seeing my favorite mom-wear picks and that maybe they give you a little inspiration for your summer wardrobe!  If you see me around, I will probably be sporting one or more of my favs from above! Happy shopping 🙂
