How to Reach Your New Year’s Resolution

Hey y’all!

Have you thought about your New Year’s Resolutions? Now, maybe this gets you excited, but maybe you don’t even bother with them. There’s no right or wrong answer here. Today, though, I will be focusing on helping you (and me!) keep our New Year’s Resolutions for 2018.

  1. Be Realistic: This may not be as glamorous as making over the top goals and resolutions, but you’ll be more likely to work towards a goal that’s actually attainable than a goal that’s impossible.
  2. Keep Accountable: When you have someone who is cheering you on while you’re working towards your resolution, it makes you more likely to keep it. For example, think of when you have a workout buddy. When you know your girlfriend is meeting you at the gym at 5:30AM, it puts a little more fire in your butt to get to the gym at 5:30AM.resolutions
  3. Baby Steps: Set up some smaller goals to help you reach your big goal. You can give yourself a goal to hit each month, and as you work towards your main goal, hitting the smaller achievements along the way will give you a little boost that will keep you going!
  4. Treat Yourself: As you see yourself making progress and hitting your smaller goals each month, find a way to treat yourself. Maybe it’s taking a bubble bath after the kids go to bed, or meeting up with a friend for coffee. Find whatever speaks to you and do that! Then you’ll have a reward to look forward to each month.resolutions
  5. Keep Going: Life happens: Kids get sick, we have to work late, and unexpected family commitments will come up. You may “fall off the wagon,” but you don’t have to stay there. Get back on the wagon when you fall off, and keep going!

Let’s chat! What’s one of your New Year’s Resolutions?
