CCMB All Neighborhood Groups Playdate

October 2017 Playdate- Corpus Christi Moms Blog

It’s fun getting together with moms in our area, but we want ALL moms and families to have the chance to connect. So, we’re scheduling our first FREE and open playdate for all who would like to attend. So bring your picnic blanket, lunch, snacks, favorite ball, bubbles, or whatever! It’s Food Truck Friday so you can enjoy that too! We’re just meeting up for an informal playdate and would love to see YOU there! (Working moms and families, do not be discouraged! We hope to do these events more soon and would love to include weekend options!)

Rockin K Maze

Truthfully, the fun starts September 30th, but Rockin K Maze is open for the fall season thru November 12th! Explore this 6-acre maze, ride the cow train, climb on the rope-spider web, play games, and more!

Free First Fridays at the Art Museum!

The first Friday of every month is FROST FREE FIRST FRIDAY! Enjoy FREE public admission to the Art Museum of South Texas. The Gift Shop and Hester’s Cafe also are open to the public. For more information, contact the Art Museum at (361) 825-3500. 

Asbury Pumpkin Patch

Annual opening of Asbury United Methodist Church Fall Pumpkin Patch! Pumpkins are available for sale in all shapes and sizes. This is a great photo, picnic, and memory making opportunity for the family!

Pickers Patch Market Days

Head on out to Pickers Patch Outdoor Market in Victoria form 9 am to 4 pm. Hunt for some antiques, vintage pieces, try some yummy food, and visit with vendors! It’s fun for the whole family!

Pet Pawfest 2017

H-E-B and Smucker’s Pet Pawfest 2017 is a family friendly pet showcase with cat agility. Enjoy Cuddles and Critters’ Petting Zoo, Flyball (Texas Twisters Flyball Club) and disk dog demos, vendors, food trucks, hopefully a lot of adoptions, and much more!

Monster Jam

Monster Jam is the most action packed live event on four wheels where world class drivers compete in front of capacity crowds in both monster truck racing and freestyle competitions. Celebrating 25 years of adrenaline charged family entertainment, Monster Jam combines spontaneous entertainment with the ultimate off road, motorsport competition. Monster Jam features the most recognizable trucks in the world including Grave Digger, Max-DTM, El Toro Loco, Monster Mutt and many more. Monster Jam events leave you on the edge of your seat as these competitors thrill fans with jaw dropping displays of gravity defying feats. Note Costumes not permitted for guests 14 years and older.

Cornerstone’s Annual Pumpkin Patch

Come enjoy the Fall Season in Alice at Cornerstone’s Annual Pumpkin Patch! They are open to the community on October 9th from 3-7pm! Open weekdays from 3-7pm, Saturdays, 10:30am-7pm, and closed on Sundays! Pumpkins range in sizes and prices. Cash only. Other special events include FREE FUN DAY! on October 21st from 5-7pm, which will include bounce houses, hayrides, face painting and lots of fun for the whole family! Cornerstone will conclude the Pumpkin Patch with an AWESOME TRUNK OR TREAT on October 31st from 5:30-6:30pm!

This FREE nature story time for families (geared for ages 2-5) at the Nueces Delta Preserve introduces children to nature and the joys of reading through stories, songs, crafts, and outdoor play. Rockport/Fulton Seafair

Who else is THRILLED the Annual Rockport/Fulton Seafair is happening at the Festival Grounds at Rockport Harbor?! Participate in contests, watch the parade, and enjoy many other activities. Live music will be playing all weekend.

Corpus Christi Ride-in Theater Presents: Little Shop of Horrors with Port Corpus Christi

Friday the 13th! Bring a lawn chair or a blanket to enjoy this sweet, heart-felt man-eating plant classic, Little Shop of Horrors sponsored by Port Corpus Christi on lawn in the Corpus Christi Watergardens!  Movie begins at 8:30 pm, but get there early to enjoy food from many of the local food trucks! St. Patrick’s 55th Annual Halloween Carnival

Eat, drink and be batty at the St. Patrick’s 55th Halloween Carnival! Calling all witches, goblins, ghosts, St. Patrick’s students and staff are your hosts. We will have great food, carnival rides, dunking booth, entertainment, haunted house, hay rides and silent auction. The event runs from 5:50 pm – 10:30pm. Admission is FREE.

Fellowship of Oso Creek Presents: Square Dance

Grab your boots and head to Fellowship of Oso Creek for square dancing fun with instruction provided by an expert! Lessons begin at 7pm and moves will build on each other, so come ready to dance! There will also be free food and drinks! Adults, college students, and children ages 7 and up are welcome. Parents must be responsible for dancers under 18. This event is not recommended for children under 7. More information is available by calling 361.993.4463.

St. James Pumpkin Patch by the Bay

Join St. James for lots of fun and festivities at their 2nd Annual Pumpkin Patch By the Bay! They will have a 75 ft. Monster Slide, Mini Golf, Inflatables, Music, Pumpkin Painting & Bowling, Face Painting, a Mini Maze, meet Charlie Brown and Snoopy, and much more! Admission is FREE. The fun begins on October 20 at 4:00 pm and 10:00am October 21 and 22.

Portland’s 12th Annual Boo Bash Carnival

Calling all Ghosts and Goblins! Come out to enjoy the 12th Annual Boo Bash from 6:00pm until 9:00pm at Joe Burke Pavilion. Events will include a costume contest for children and pets at 7:00pm, a pumpkin decorating contest, carnival games and inflatable slides. Contests are limited to the first 30 pre-registered in each age group. Registration begins at 6:00pm and ends promptly at 6:45pm. The Blood Mobile will be on site. Parents may donate blood and save a life. This event is FREE!

“Treasure Maps Aren’t Just for Pirates!”

Join the presentation from the Coastal and Marine Geospatial Lab at Harte Research Institute of  “Treasure maps are not just for pirates!” Not only can you use a map to find something, like a treasure, but maps can also be used to discover a hidden pattern or to learn more about our surroundings. The Coastal and Marine Geospatial Lab researchers create and use maps to solve problems and address unanswered questions about the Gulf of Mexico coastline. Come and learn about how these researchers use maps to discover new information about sea turtle habitat and to find ways to protect us from storms and sea level rise. Participants will use a map to find hidden treasures throughout the preserve, discovering fun facts about maps and wetlands along the way.  This workshop is apart of a 6 month series with Harte Research Institute for Gulf of Mexico Studies to help students learn about marine science in the Coastal Bend.  Program is targeted for students ages 10-18, but everyone is welcome!

A FREE family and pet friendly event will be hosted at the Youth Activities Center! Activities and events include a haunted house, inflatables, crafts, a caricature artist, a fortune teller, pony rides, a DJ, costume contest, an outdoor movie, and FREE hotdogs, chips and drinks provided by Civilian MWR. Dia De Los Muertos Festival

Come out to the 9th Annual Dia De Los Muertos Street Festival in  downtown Corpus Christi. There is plenty of fun at this festival including a kid’s area, crafts, games, art demonstrations, and a rock wall.  Listen to live music from various Texas artists, and see other cultural performances! Vendors for food, art work, crafts, and jewelry will also be on site.

Monster Mash Cupcake Dash

 The Staff and Board of Directors of Family Counseling Service are pleased and excited to announce the Monster Mash Cupcake Dash. The “Dash” consists of two events; a 5 K Race or 2 Mile Walk. This event will include cupcakes, snacks, awards and door prizes for registered participants. This is a family friendly event. The race begins at 8:00 am.

Boo Bash 2017

Boo Bash is a family friendly Halloween event for all ages hosted by the Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History. Participate in activities, experiments, a cake walk, costume contest, trick-or-treating, and lots more! Start time is 10 am.
