Free Resources to Get the Wiggles Out

With many of us at home trying to balance a “new to us” homeschooling schedule, I feel like it is necessary for us to have different tools and resources to keep our kids moving and keep the wiggles at bay.  

Below I have put together a list of all the FREE websites, videos, and apps that you can use to get out the WIGGLES! Most importantly I hope these help you and the kids have fun together!

GoNoodle 

GoNoodle® gets kids up and moving to fun, engaging content and games. Every dance party, yoga session, mindfulness activity, and the game session is an opportunity for kids to wake up their bodies, engage their minds, and be their best. Visit site here: GoNoodle for Families

Beachbody Free Workouts for Kids

During this time, Beachbody wants to continue helping families stay healthy and sane by offering some fun ways to expend energy together. With schools out and no formal P.E., they have decided to make a selection of Beachbody Kids Workouts free for all to access with no Beachbody On Demand registration required. Cosmic Kids Yoga

Yoga, mindfulness, and relaxation designed especially for kids aged 3+, used in schools and homes all over the world. Go to the YouTube channel here.

Group Hiit – Free Kids Workouts  

Free workouts for kids! Short, fun workouts to burn energy and increase strength. If there is a movement your child cannot complete, swap it for something simpler like jumping jacks. To access these 7 free workouts go to their site here

Debbie Doo Kids TV

Debbie Doo TV where you will move, learn, dance, sing and most importantly have FUN! Here you will find original music written by Debbie Doo such as worldwide favorites ‘Let’s Star Jump’ and ‘Roll Your Hands’ plus all your favorite nursery rhymes and childhood classics all performed in the unique Debbie Doo way. TheLearningStation – Kids Songs and Nursery Rhymes

Learning Station songs filled with active participation, nursery rhymes, brain breaks for the classroom, learning videos, camp songs, dance, holiday songs, action songs, and our very popular move and freeze dance songs for children. Also, ESL songs for children combined with music and movement galore! Our channel is geared towards babies, toddlers, preschoolers, and elementary-age children. Visit the YouTube channel here

Have Fun Teaching

Have Fun Teaching, with over 1 Billion Views, has been helping teachers and kids for over 10 years. HFT offers free worksheets, songs, videos, and resources for teachers, parents, and kids! Visit the YouTube channel here

Sworkit Kids workouts

Sworkit Kids’ workouts are always free. A parent will need to help get the child registered after completing their first workout, but even without a Sworkit membership, the Kid Workouts can be accessed at no cost. For older students, we also offer free access to Sworkit through our Sworkit Youth Initiative. A teacher simply needs to complete the form at the end of this blog and we will provide full, free access for the entire school. Visit the website here, and download the app to your phone. 

Fluency & Fitness

Fluency & Fitness® is typically used in classrooms for review purposes, but we are giving families 21 days of FREE unlimited access to our site during school closures due to the Coronavirus. Your access to the content will simply expire after this time period. Of course, if you love this, you can always sign up for a plan later. Make using this site even more enjoyable by joining in along with your child! Sign up here for your temporary free account. 

Khan Academy

As a mission-focused non-profit, it is Khan Academy’s duty to do our part to ensure students keep learning amidst the school closures. We also want to support teachers and parents to the best of our ability as we navigate this crisis together. Khan Academy is currently offering daily live streams on FacebookYouTube and Twitter to help parents and educators best utilize the website’s tools and resources during this time of school closures. 

Noodle Loaf (Podcast)

Noodle Loaf is an interactive podcast born from the brain of a music education specialist father and his goofball kids. For about 10 minutes at a time, Noodle Loaf invites the family to join together for some creative fun. 
The show is geared for kids 3-9 years old but we’ve seen kids of all ages get into it. Visit website here

Planet Fitness 

We are bringing the gym to you with our Home Work-Ins FREE for EVERYONE. Join us again on Facebook Live Tuesday at 7pm ET for another in-home workout because we know that staying healthy means staying active. United We Move. Visit their Facebook page to view the live stream workouts.

Center Stage Dance Academy

Currently, this  Massachusetts dance studio is offering FREE virtual dance classes. They are streaming them to their YouTube channel where you can watch live or the replay. Visit their Facebook page here, and their YouTube page here

Just Dance – Family Friendly Gaming (YouTube)

This YouTube channel is not really educational, but it does have a ton of dance videos that everyone in the family can have some fun learning and challenge each other with! Visit the YouTube channel here
