We’ve compiled a list of the Corpus Christi area’s biggest and best 4th of July events, including the best places to catch amazing fireworks displays!
Corpus Christi Convention & Visitors Bureau’s 4th of July Big Bang Celebration
- When: July 4th
- Fireworks: Start at 9:30pm at 2 locations – the USS Lexington and off a barge dock located in the Corpus Christi Bay just north of the People’s Street T-Head
- Parade: Arrive no later than 5:00pm, parade starts at 6:00pm. Begins at I-37 and Shoreline Blvd. and travels southbound to Park St.
- Kids Zone: Rides, bounce houses, rock wall, petting zoo, face painters and more – Open from 3:00pm to 6:00pm between Sherrill Park and the Great Lawn on Shoreline Blvd.
- Food Truck Court: Operating from 11:30am to 9:00pm next to the Kidz Zone
- Harbor Bridge Light Show: Tune your radio to 92.7FM, 95.5FM, or 1440AM at 9:00pm to experience an illuminated show choreographed to patriotic tunes
Texas State Aquarium’s 4th of July Celebration
- When: July 4th at 6:45pm
- Where: Texas State Aquarium (2710 N. Shoreline Blvd.)
- What: Musical entertainment, a limited number of exhibits open to the public, and a great view of the Big Bang Celebration fireworks. Food and drinks available for purchase including beer, wine and margaritas
- Price: $15 for members, $25 for non-members (Kids under 2 are free!)
- Bonus: VIP tickets available for $85 – Includes private premium firework viewing area, catered dinner by South Texas BBQ (with 2 drinks), and access to private cash bar
Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History’s Red, White, and Kaboom!
- When: July 4th at 6:00pm
- Where: Museum of Science and History (1900 N. Chaparral St.)
- What: Carnival style games, science shows, face painting, music, craft activities, a petting zoo, a great view of the Big Bang Celebration fireworks (chairs included!), and more
- Price: Advanced tickets are $20 for members and $25 for non-members (add $5 at the door)
- Bonus: Food available for purchase via food trucks on the plaza
Corpus Christi Hooks’ Independence Day Fireworks
- When: July 5th at 7:05pm
- Where: Whataburger Field (734 E Port Ave.)
- What: Baseball game followed by fireworks display (you can also see the Big Bang Celebration fireworks from the stadium)
- Price: Included in ticket price of baseball game
- Bonus: Whataburger Family Day – Buy one ticket, get one free
Harrison’s Landing’s BYOB Fireworks Cruise
- When: July 4th at 8:15pm
- Where: Harrison’s Landing (108 Peoples Street T-Head)
- What: Cruise to watch the Harbor Bridge light show and Big Bang Celebration fireworks from the water
- Price: $25 per person (advanced purchase required)
- Bonus: BYOB and snacks
Naval Air Station Corpus Christi’s Independence Day Celebration
- When: June 29th at 4:00pm
- Where: Naval Air Station Corpus Christi’s Sunfish Beach
- What: Family fun (inflatables, carnival rides, rock wall, water activities, photo booth, petting zoo, and more), food vendors, and a fireworks show
- Price: Free admission (only those with access to Naval Air Station Corpus Christi are able to attend)
North Padre Island’s Fireworks
- When: July 4th around 9:00pm
- Where: Padre Island Yacht Club (13402 Whitecap Blvd.)
- What: 30 minute firework show over the water
- Price: Free
Red, White & Blues at Schlitterbahn
- When: July 4th at 10:00am
- Where: Schlitterbahn Riverpark & Resort Corpus Christi ( )
- What: All day ‘Blues Festival’ on two stages along with food and drink specials
- Price: Included in ticket price of park admission
- Bonus: North Padre Island Fireworks display viewing party beginning at 8:30 PM open to resort guests, park guests and the general public
Port Aransas’ 4th of July Bash
- When: July 4th at 5:00pm
- Where: The Tarpon Inn (200 E. Cotter Ave.)
- What: Live music in the Courtyard
- Price: $25 per person (RSVP by July 1, 2017)
- Bonus: Serving brisket, sausage, ribs and all the fixins’
Port Aransas’ Fireworks
- When: July 4th at dark thirty
- Where: Roberts Point Park
- What: Firework show over the ship channel
- Price: Free
Annual Wendell Family Fireworks Show
- When: July 4th around 9:30pm
- Where: Rockport Beach Park
- What: Fireworks show celebrating its 52nd year
- Price: Free
Naval Air Station Kingsville’s 75th Anniversary/Patriotic Celebration
- When: June 30th through July 2
- Fireworks Extravaganza: June 30th from 3:00pm-10:00 at Naval Air Station Kingsville (554 Mccain St.). Musical entertainment, food and drink vendors, a kid zone, and the city’s only firework show. Open to the public with free admission and parking on base but bring cash for vendors
- Parade: July 1st at 11:00am. Begins at the Courthouse and travels west on Kleberg Ave., ending at City Hall on 3rd Street. General, bike, and pet parades with no fee to participate
- Community Dance: July 1st from 6:00pm-11:00pm at the Knights of Columbus Hall (1600 N. 14th Street). Music provided by Bay Rock Orchestra/Little Big Band with no fee to enter and cash bar available
- Golf Tournament: July 2nd from 8:00am-12:30am at L. E. Ramey Golf Course (2522 E. Escondido Rd.). $75 entry fee for two man scramble, includes shirt, lunch, and chance at prizes
