Your Perfect Day in the Coastal Bend

May Include (but is not limited to)…

1. Before it gets hot you head on out to Port Aransas. Punch in Robert’s Point Park in to your GPS and enjoy a leisure drive out to the Island. Robert’s Point Park has the most amazing playground, split into three areas it caters to the youngest and the oldest kids. It also has a lot of grass to run around, and fly a kite if you want! And the best surprise of all, as the large freight boats steam on past you can see Dolphins playing in their wake. The dolphins are extremely playful and will sometimes even come close to the water’s edge. We love enjoying a picnic on the rocks while we watch the big boats pass.

2. After you have played at the park there are several fun options for treats in Port A. Our favorite is the most adorable little candy shop called Winton’s Island Candy where you can find every candy under the sun including homemade fudge and chocolates. If you don’t love candy you will still love the beautiful pastel building and the eclectic feel.

3. You can’t be all the way out on the Island and not spend a few hours at the beach. So grab a 12$ beach pass from the Stripes gas station and head on out. There are beach access roads all along the highway and with a permit you can pull right up and set up your own area. My kids love taking boogie boards, kites, sand castle equipment, spike ball, and lots and lots of snacks.

4. When everyone gets hungry you decide to pack up and head to dinner. As you head back to the city you stop at Snoopy’s Pier and enjoy delicious seafood on the deck and watch the sun set, soaking in the amazing colors of red, yellow and orange. We live in such a beautiful place.

5. The day wouldn’t be complete without a sweet treat and conveniently you are really close to Scoopy’s Ice Cream and so you treat everyone to a double scoop cookies and cream before you head home.

The kids fall asleep before you get back over the bridge and you chalk it up to
