With school districts across the Coastal Bend canceling school for the next couple of weeks, we have compiled a list of free student meals in the area. {This is a working list and we plan to add to it as information changes โ€“ let us know if we are missing any local school districts!}

Agua Dulce

Aransas Pass

To Pick Up: Starting Monday, April 6th, 2020 If the child is not present in the vehicle โ€“ Parent/Guardian must provide one of the following forms of documentation in order to receive a meal without the child present: 

  • Individual student report cards
  • Attendance record from parent portal of the school website
  • Birth certificate for children not in school

OR Children must be present in the vehicle when picking up meals if no documentation can be provided. Breakfast and lunch are provided from 11: 30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. or while supplies last, Monday through Friday. We will be closed April 10 in Observance of Good Friday.
Guests are asked to stay in their vehicles and staff will bring meals to your vehicle. H.T. Faulk will remain closed to the public. For more information visit our website.

Updated guidance and regulations have been received from TDA/USDA on March 30, 2020 โ€œMeals being provided when no child is present one of the following items must be presented by a parent/guardian:

Each child, CCISD student or not, may receive one breakfast and one lunch every weekday while supplies last. Flour Bluff

 Flour Bluff ISD Central Kitchen | 2507 Waldron Road

To Pick up: The meal distributions will take place on Mondays and Wednesdays, 9:00am- Noon each week for the duration of the school closure. We will now offer two breakfasts and two lunch meals at pick-up on Monday and three breakfasts and three lunch meals on Wednesday. Earlier this week, the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) announced new meal pickup flexibility for parents and families. Parents or guardians of Flour Bluff ISD students may pick-up meals for their children without the child present. However, TDA is requiring that if the child is not present, one of the following pieces of documentation must be presented:

  • Official letter/email from school listing children enrolled*
  • Individual student report cards
  • Attendance record from parent portal of the school website
  • Birth certificate for children

To Pick Up: Meals will be provided Monday through Thursday, 10:00 am-12:00pm.  Friday’s meal will still be available but will be delivered with Thursday’s meal.   A student does not need to attend school at the distribution location to get meals. Students must be present to receive a meal. Due to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) rules, we can only distribute meals to students when theyโ€™re on site. If you have any questions about the school lunch program please call 361-645-2364 during the hours of 10-12. Please continue to check our social media accounts and website for updates as they occur.

Ingleside

Ingleside Primary School (Bus Pick-Up Loop) | 2100 Achievement Blvd., Ingleside, Texas 78362

To Pick Up: Ingleside ISD will be providing free meals for children ages 18 and younger from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. This service will be offered beginning Tuesday, March 17th, and will be available on weekdays.  Meals will be provided for those 18 years and younger, whether arriving by vehicle or walking to the meal pick-up location.  Children do not have to attend IISD to receive meals. Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller and the Food and Nutrition Division at the Texas Department of Agriculture have released important instructions to schools providing meals for children to parents without children present, as outlined in a recent waiver approved by USDA. Schools are now authorized to provide meals to parents for their child โ€“ even when the child is not present โ€“ provided they have one of the following forms of documentation at the point of meal service:

Attendance record from parent portal of the school website

Birth certificate for children not in school

Kingsville

To Pick Up: Beginning Monday, April 6th, we will provide one curbside meal service including breakfast and lunch from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Meals will be given to children ages 3 to 19. One meal per child will be available to children in the car. Adults may not pick up meals for children who are not present. In an abundance of caution to keep our community healthy, KISD asks individuals to stay in their vehicles while picking up to-go meals. Odem

To Pick up: Odem-Edroy ISD, in collaboration with the Texas Department of Agriculture, will be offering free curbside meals to its students during the current coronavirus closure. These meals will be offered Monday through Friday until OEISD reopens between 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Families are advised to drive up for service and remain in their cars. Children must be present to receive a meal. Meals will continue

Orange Grove/Sandia

Port Aransas 

H.G. Olsen Elementary School | 100 S Station St, Port Aransas, TX

To Pick Up: All students are eligible for free meals. No registration, paperwork or sign-in is required. The drive-through will be conducted in the driveway that normally is used for student drop-off and pickup at the elementary school, according to a notice issued by the district. The Child Nutrition Staff is still offering curbside service from 11:00 am – 12:30 pm on Monday thru Friday. Each PAISD student receives lunch for today and breakfast for the next day. On Friday each student receives lunches for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday and breakfast for Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Anyone who is unable to pick up a meal but has a need should contact the district by sending an email to [email protected]. Email is the preferred communication method, but calls can be made to (361) 749-1290, according to the school district.

Portland

TO PICK-UP: Beginning Monday, April 6th, the G-PISD Food Service team will begin running a new schedule, offering meals for five (5) days per week (with weekend meals no longer able to be provided on Fridays). This change is necessary because the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) did not approve the waiver requested by the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA), which would have allowed us to continue serving free meals for seven (7) days per week. Parents and children will still be able to pick up lunch and breakfast items at the same time each day: 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., with the next dayโ€™s breakfast, provided with daily lunch.

Also beginning Monday, April 6thmeals will be available for pick up on ONLY Mondays and Wednesdays.

  • Monday pick-up will include:(1) lunch for Monday, (2) breakfast and lunch for Tuesday, and (3) breakfast for Wednesday.
  • Wednesday pick-up will include (1) lunch for Wednesday, (2) breakfast and lunch for Thursday, (3) breakfast and lunch for Friday, and (4) breakfast for Monday.

To Pick Up: ACISDโ€™s Child Nutrition Department will continue to offer curbside meals to children 18 and younger. (One breakfast and one lunch package per child.) The curbside meal will be available from 11:00 a.m. to 1 p.m. on weekdays. We strongly urge parents to have their children in the vehicle with them to make the process faster. Parents may only receive meals for their child(ren) only. Parents may not receive meals for other children. The ACISD Child Nutrition Department must document each meal provided to parents on behalf
of children per USDA Regulations.

School of Science and Technology- CC

SST Corpus Christi Elementary |6633 Evans Road, Corpus Christi, TX 

To Pick Up: Beginning Monday, March 23 from 11am – 1pm, drive-through food distribution will be offered at select SST campuses across the districts Monday through Friday. Food will be provided based on one meal per student/child 18 years and under. The student/child does not have to attend SST schools in order to receive a meal. Sinton

To Pick Up: Pick up time is 9am-1pm. Meal pickup will be through the bus loop entrance. Breakfast and lunch will be picked up at the same time. Children must be present in the car to receive the meals. Adult meals are not available. Walk-ups are welcome, but no dining in. This service is for any child ages 1-18 and not limited to students of Sinton ISD, as long as they have not been to China, UK, Ireland or most of Europe and do not have any symptoms of the coronavirus. Tuloso- Midway

West Oso

West Oso High School | 754 Flato Road, Corpus Christi

To Pick Up: The student meals will be available from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm each day. Each packet will include a federally approved lunch. Meals will be given to children 18 and younger. One meal per child. The child must be present to receive a meal. No adult meals are available. Adults may not pick up meals for children who are not present. As we continue to help our community stay healthy, West Oso ISD asks all passengers to please stay inside their vehicle while picking up meals. Woodsboro ISD

Woodsboro ISD will be providing meals to students Mondays (5 day supply) 11:30am-1:00pm.

Jennifer
Jennifer is a Coastal Bend Native, born and raised in Ingleside. She began contributing to the Corpus Christi Moms Blog in 2018 and stepped up as the Community Engagement Coordinator in 2019. She is happiest when she is crafting, writing, or doing anything artistic.
