Treat Mom to a Unique Mother’s Day Brunch!

0

Mother’s Day is on Sunday, May 14th!

(Side note – how is it already almost summer? Half of me wants 2017 to slow down while the other half is ready for cool weather again!)

Do you know where you are taking Mom to celebrate? In my family, we love enjoying holidays with new experiences and fun restaurants instead of gifts. Honestly, we really don’t need a reason to go out and try new restaurants. We are definitely foodies but having a reason to celebrate makes the experience even more fun!

If you’d like to try something new, check out these unique ideas for a fun and out of the norm Mother’s Day Brunch!

Mother's day brunch

The Post at Lamar Park

411 Doddridge Street, Suite 102

Reservations recommended

Located in Lamar Park, The Post at Lamar Park reminds me of my favorite restaurants in my hometown of Dallas. Enjoy their beautiful patio (weather permitting) while eating the Soft Shell Crab Eggs Benedict (or try the Elvis – peanut butter and banana stuffed French toast if you have a sweet tooth) and sip on a Bloody Mary from their funky container bar.

8te

1220 Airline Road, Suite 205

Located in the shopping center with Toys R Us, 8te is a cozy yet modern American restaurant. Order an East Coast Flat, it’s topped with Gruyere (need I say more?) and a carafe of mimosas. On the way out, treat mom to a to-go box of their delicious macaroons.

La Barataria Restaurant & Wine Bar

224 E Cotter Avenue, Port Aransas

Reservations recommended

Located in the Island Moorings Yacht Club & Marina in Port Aransas, La Barataria combines fine dining in a casual atmosphere with gorgeous views. Enjoy the Steak & Eggs or the Cajun Porridge with a glass of prosecco.

Nueces Cafe

15552 Northwest Boulevard

Not open on Sundays but you can celebrate early on Saturday!

Located in Calallen, Nueces Cafe is a super cute cafe and bakery with a delicious menu. Try the Egg Wrap (on a chipotle wrap for a kick) for breakfast or the Pecan Cranberry Chicken Salad Croissant. They also have daily specials for breakfast and lunch. Make sure to order a couple of their desserts to split.

Black Sheep Bistro

15201 SPID, Suite 120

Reservations recommended

Located on North Padre, Black Sheep Bistro is a new American seafood restaurant offering upscale dining with locally sourced ingredients. Order the Chicken and Funnel Cake (how fun is that?) or the cured in-house Salmon. Make sure to order the table-side Mimosa Bar, which serves 4.

Tori
Tori is a full-time working mom to Conner and wife to Nick. She met her husband in Dallas when he was finishing medical school to become a chiropractor. After graduation, they left Dallas {Tori’s hometown} to move to Corpus Christi. Tori and her husband have an amazing 3.5 year old son Conner who was born at 33 weeks due to Tori developing HELLP syndrome. In addition to being a wife and mom, Tori runs her husband’s chiropractic practice as the Marketing & Public Relations Director as well as the face you see when you come in. She absolutely loves working side by side with her husband and wouldn’t have it any other way! If she has any spare time after all of that, you can find her in the gym or the yoga studio, in the kitchen baking, at the grocery store finding the stinkiest piece of cheese, or at thrift / antique stores shopping for the next treasure she can transform.
