Father's Day Gift Ideas- Corpus Christi Moms Blog

I am not sure who decided that Father’s Day should be smack in the middle of June and the kids’ summer holidays, but I would like to personally thank whoever is responsible.

This year will be my husband’s fourth Father’s Day. The last four, I have scrambled for presents, but this year I vow to be organized. So, here are some ideas for possible presents and ways to celebrate all those wonderful fathers out there.

As we all know, food is the way to a man’s heart:

  • Fast food restaurant gift card – You know he loves him some Whataburger.
  • Father’s Day breakfast – Some of the local restaurants have wonderful brunch menus (and it means one less meal to cook)
  • Food subscription – Did you know you can get a subscription to a bacon of the month club? If bacon, isn’t his thing, what about BBQ or pizza? The options are endless.
  • Grilling tools – My husband says “I don’t cook, I grill,” and to be fair, he can make some delicious meals on the grill. Maybe some nice manly grill accessories or tools will encourage him to grill more.

Activities for the family! Take the kids to the…

  • Hooks Game – Baseball can be a great affordable family day activity. Whataburger field has a great play area for the little ones and activities for the older ones so do not worry about the kids being bored while dad is engrossed in the game.
  • Water Park – We are fortunate to have two water parks very close to us down here in South Texas, why not let you husband release his inner child and spend the day riding slides.
  • Beach – Just be sure to pack him some snacks and some ice cold drinks.

For the outdoors man:

  • Chartered fishing experience
  • Fishing gear
  • Golf balls and tees
  • Anything from Academy, Dick’s Sporting Goods or any other outdoor recreation shop

Personalized gifts:

  • What father doesn’t need a blanket, coffee cup, phone case, or travel suitcase with their kids on it? Again, the options are just to many to list.
  • A digital photoframe – Load it full of wonderful family pictures and give your husband something to decorate his desk with and brighten up his dreary office.
  • World’s best Dad shirt – Come on, y’all know every dad should own at least one of these, even if it is just worn to paint the house or change the oil in his truck. He will appreciate the message and the sentiment.

Child’s choice:

If you child is of suitable age (I started this at 3 with my son) take him to a store, give him a budget, and let him pick out a Father’s Day gift for his dad! This can be incredibly entertaining for everyone. The first year my son bought his dad Hot Wheels and the second Legos. It is of sheer coincidence of course that those happened to be his favorite toys. For Mother’s Day this year, I got leather wipes for my car and an air freshener. I keep meaning to ask exactly where his dad took him shopping!

What is your family treating Dad to this Father’s Day?
